A Couple of weeks ago I drove to a coach outlet about 3 hours away to return an online purchase my mother had made. Along came my husband and my 6mo baby and my 18 mo girl. My mother and my 7 year old brother came along too. We were planning to buy something else but that store didnt carry what we wanted so we drove to A different outlet to 20 min away. At both malls my husband took my lil baby and walked away somewhere else. I had a double stroller with a basket underneath that for me is hard to reach, i kept the diaperbag there. We didnt find what we wanted so we moved on. The stores we visited closed at 9. We were packing things up and it was about 8:40pm. I dont remember what I was going to reach down to the basket for but i did and I saw a purple wallet. I asked my mother if it was hers and she said no . I open it up and i realized it was a coach wallet. No tags or anything. I was scared because it might have been my 18 mo baby girl who might have put it there from the 1st store we visited because thats where i remember seeing wallets in a shelf. It was now 8:50pm and i called my husband to come back. I told him what happened and we said we couldnt make it back on time. We came home and we have no money to go back. Im afraid to call and get in trouble. I would have gone back if it had beed discovered earlier. I looked it up on their website and looks like it retails for $350. I dont know what to do. Im afraid to get in trouble if I try to fix it.
BRIAN: Phone them up and explain.
Then mail it to them.
Honesty is always the best policy.
It was actually the monday before. We took it back on Saturday, i wish it had been earlier but we had spent all our Christmas money then and I thought they would make us pay for it. I didnt like it and didn't want to keep it. they were very kind. We ended up purchasing a few more things this time… felt good to be honest and embarrassed because it was my girl that took it.
"and we have no money to go back" is this what poor people do? Drive 3 hours one way, buy ridiculously over-priced items (even at the outlet stores)??
This makes no sense.
If you bring it back, just explain what happened.
