Bank of America NSF Returned Item Fee?

I had $300 in account and wrote a check for 400 knowing more funds were coming in. (I know this is bad)

I got a $35 NSF Returned Item Fee (Cleared) but also the -$400 is Pending, leaving me with -$135. How can I can I get a Returned fee if they covered the check? Shouldn't it be an overdraft fee?

Or will that

Or will that check show up as essentially a non-transaction once processing is over, leaving only the fee?

Just confused because if the check didn't go through I have $265 in my account, despite an available balance of -$135

Best Answer:

bliss: IT takes a couple days for it to finish processing. Writing a bad check is a felony.

What you did is illegal. In my state, the fine is 3x the value of the check.
For a $400 check, that's $1200.

How are we supposed to know what is going on. The check is pending, maybe BofA is cancelling it. Or waiting for the money, or whatever.

CALL THEM.

Don't do illegal things in the future.

You may have, "courtesy overdraft," on your account. You are over drafted but, they loaned you the money so you didn't bounce a check.

Ask they turn of the, "courtesy," and manage your finances better.
