Does tax returns come with pay stub?

my mom did my taxes this year and she said she was going to direct deposit it but i just got it in the mail. no money in my account yet though. however the paper i got in the mail looks like the actual check but not really sure if it is.

kind of looks like a pay stub but also has that little line where you write

kind of looks like a pay stub but also has that little line where you write your name on it as well you signature but it's just 1 piece of paper i believe it's usually 2 like a regular check the top half being the pay stub the bottom half is the actual check.

also any ideas how long the direct deposit will take i mean at this point i was better off opting for the paper version instead.

BarfingWhale: You just get a check, no stub on it, if it doesn't get direct deposited. If you got a check, you have to take that to the bank to deposit it, it's not going to happen automatially. If it's direct deposited you don't get anything in the mail from the IRS telling you. Go to irs.gov and click on where's my refund, put in your info, and see what it says, deposited OR mailed. You'll need to put in your social security number, filing status (single), and the amount of your refund.

If they sent you a paper check (and it sounds like they did) you won't be getting a direct deposit. The bank can tell you if it's an actual check. They are usually multi-colored and have the year and form number printed on them. They don't have stubs.
