Michelle: I know exactly how you feel… When I was 16, I also wanted to go to the US as an exchange student for a year. My parents couldn't afford it and there was no way for me to raise that much money. Wait a couple of years until you have finished high school and then check into becoming an Au Pair. That's what I had planned on doing. It never came to be but back then just knowing that there was another opportunity to live in the US for a year kept me going.
your school for the life of me cannot send you legally without your parents consent 'cause you are a minor……… so even if you have the money, you shall definitely not be able to go………

start realizing you aren't going on this trip, if you haven't found ways to make some money long before now there is no way you will make $6000 in a few months
there are many things in life you really, really, really want, but can't have, so this is simply your first hard lesson to accept
Wait until you are an adult. The travel will be cheaper than a sponsored trip, and you will enjoy the trip, and yourself, more.
School trips don't cost that much. Ours did the trips to Europe for $2,000 per student. That included air fare, food, lodging and travel. I can't see how yours is requiring over $6,000 per student.
Your school can't send you legally without your parents consent because you are a minor. So even if you have the money, you won't be able to go.
It isn't the money- your parents said you couldn't go.
Sixteen is young to be going to a different country- but if you started saving up now, you would probably have enough to go to the US to visit by the time you were over 18, and could go without permission. Start saving up now, and you'll get to go when you can really enjoy it. That shouldn't cost $6000 without airfare. I don't know where you're from, but you can stay in a hostel for under $60 a night.
That is way too much money for such a trip.
The only way to make good money at your age is to babysit. A Red Cross first-aid certificate would be helpful.
