How to deposit cash into checking/savings account?

I have searched and people suggest not to deposit it into a machine because it might read the wrong amount you put in. How do you deposit cash into a checking/savings account? Do I have to talk to those guys behind the glass windows/counters? Sorry for asking such a stupid question. I'm new at this and want to

Peake: Do you mean petty cash? It's money set aside in an account to pay for odds and ends around the office.

If you're depositing cash into a bank account, someone has to count the cash. Whether it's a machine or a person doesn't really matter, unless you don't trust their machines.

When you deposit money into a machine it gets counted the next day. Other wise everyone would say they deposited five $100 dollar bills when they put five $10 in the machine.

Walk into your branch and fill out a deposit slip.

go inside the bank and make a deposit with the teller. first you fill out a deposit slip then go over and give the slip and the money to the teller. it's not hard.

Walk inside of the bank, give them your account number, give them the cash and job done.
