If you wanted to write someone a check for $100,000 what is the best way to do it?

Lets say I have $5,000,000 in my checking account, enough to cover a large check.

Bank transfer would be the safest. Typically banks charge for any of the methods except personal check, but fees are minimal and likely waived if you talk wtih them.

You can write personal checks. You can be sure that they will be taken to the bank immediately. The person would be able to deposit into their account but would have to wait until it cleared to take the money out.
