Would the bank call and confirm a purchase of 10 thousand on my debit card to make sure I made it?

300 thousand in checking account

Best Answer:

Michael: Potentially but not likely unless you do a significant amount of business with the bank.

Usually nowadays they decline the charge and send you an email if they suspect it's not your purchase.

Other answer:

Michael:
the credit cards i have had, much to my surprise have called me when a sizeable purchase has been made that is out of character with my normal useage
i had no idea this was possible and appreciated their attention to my account
that shall probably depend on the policy of the bank, that amount of purchase on a debit card would be unusual

Mortal Dimunitive:
I would hope so, at least a text or email if said purchase took place.
If it didn't, you may be being played.
Flower:
A debit card purchase comes out of your bank account so you'd have to have that much in the account or have an overdraft to cover it.
Chris:

Robt:
